Non-Traditional Giving

Gifts that Benefit Generations
Endowments are permanent legacies that provide significant donor recognition as well as support for our programs in perpetuity. The principal of your endowment gift is invested and the income from the investment is used to continue providing safety and support services for victims of domestic violence in our community. Hope House has an endowment fund named "The Forever Safe Foundation" managed by the Truman Heartland Community Foundation.

By making a $600 gift or pledge to Hope House's Forever Safe Foundation, you guarantee a night of safety for a woman or child until we no longer need safe havens in our community, thus keeping someone "forever safe." Select a date and designate a loved one, friend or yourself to be honored on that special date, year after year. If you would like to contribute to this endowment fund, please contact Jennifer at 816.257.9339 or jwilkerson@hopehouse.net.

Planned Giving
Deferred gifts allow you to provide a larger legacy than might be possible than outright gifts made during your lifetime. Your planned gift will contribute to the future strength of the institution and enable Hope House to carry forward the work and ideals in which you believe.

Planned gifts may be in the form of bequests, life insurance, qualified retirement plans or real estate. We encourage you and your legal/financial advisors to work with the Development Office staff to plan deferred gifts.
